The LEME festival, created and produced by the 23 Milhas’ project, explores the languages of contemporary circus and artistic creation through an active transfiguration of the usual view of the cultural space of our times, with a focus on multidisciplinarity. Between 2017 and 2021 I was responsible for the development of its identity.
After a previous edition dedicated to matter, land, and body, LEME 2021 departed to the realm of the divine, the ethereal.

CAU is an artistic production center located in the village of Cortém, municipality of Caldas da Rainha, which promotes the practice of research and artistic creation and supports the development of cultural activities in its territory.
Cortém is a space of time located in a ridge. These characteristics are the beginning point of a long process of research and design in search of a visual vocabulary. An open identity that in every step is influenced by the place and the conversations at CAU. Artist by artist a diferent process is initiated, adding a brick to the identity of this place.

Planteia, Concept w/ 23 Milhas’ team and visual identity, Ílhavo
Planteia is a community project which is at the same time a garden, a stage and a game. Located in Casa da Cultura’s square, it represents a new challenge in inhabiting this place: from its daily use and activities programmed specifically for it, like concerts, performances, workshops, mediation activities, to the collective act of taking care of a garden.
Planteia was built, planted and painted by hundreds of people in the community, local schools and associations.

Bons Sons 2019, Visual identity, Cem Soldos
The largest and most diverse festival dedicated to Portuguese music, BONS SONS takes place every year in the village of Cem Soldos, Tomar. Organized by SCOCS, a local cultural association, BONS SONS acts as a platform to promote Portuguese music, where the audience can discover emerging projects as well as reconnect with renowned musicians.
In 2019, BONS SONS celebrated 10 editions of a village in manifest. The political dimension of this moment was the starting point for an identity, both direct and raw. During the process of creating the identity of the 2019 commemorative edition, I found in a warehouse the stencils used by the population to create the wayfinding of previous editions, which became the basis of this year’s identity.

23 Milhas is the cultural project of Ílhavo Municipality. In addition to a vast programming in various artistic areas, it promotes artistic creation, training and critical thinking, seeking to cultivate the relationship between artists and spectators, as well as activate territory and community.
The naming of the project came from the 23 nautical miles of luminous range of Ílhavo’s lighthouse. It was this light that began to dictate the rules of the graphic construction designed by Studio Dobra in 2016. I joined the team in 2017 in order to develop and amplify the visual language of the project – from posters, visuals for social networks, brochures, books, newspapers, exhibitions and spatial experiences.
